Monosulphide Mon`o*sul"phide, n. [Mono- + sulphide.] (Chem.) A sulphide containing one atom of sulphur, and analogous to a monoxide; -- contrasted with a {polysulphide}; as, galena is a monosulphide. [1913 Webster]
