Obtundent Ob*tund"ent, n. [L. obtundens, p. pr. of obtundere.] (Med.) A substance which sheathes a part, or blunts irritation, usually some bland, oily, or mucilaginous matter; -- nearly the same as {demulcent}. --Forsyth. [1913 Webster]
