Cetyl Ce"tyl, n. [Gr. ? whale + -yl.] (Chem.) A radical, {C16H33}, not yet isolated, but supposed to exist in a series of compounds homologous with the ethyl compounds, and derived from spermaceti. [1913 Webster]
