Epipteric Ep`ip*ter"ic, a. [Pref. epi- + Gr. ? wing. So called because above the wing of the sphenoid.] (Anat.) Pertaining to a small Wormian bone sometimes present in the human skull between the parietal and the great wing of the sphenoid. -- n. The epipteric bone. [1913 Webster]
