Chancre Chan"cre, n. [F. chancere. See {Cancer}.] (Med.) A venereal sore or ulcer; specifically, the initial lesion of true syphilis, whether forming a distinct ulcer or not; -- called also {hard chancre}, {indurated chancre}, and {Hunterian chancre}. [1913 Webster]
