Acquaint Ac*quaint", v. t. [imp. & p. p. {Acquainted}; p. pr. & vb. n. {Acquainting}.] [OE. aqueinten, acointen, OF. acointier, LL. adcognitare, fr. L. ad + cognitus, p. p. of cognoscere to know; con- + noscere to know. See {Quaint}, {Know}.] 1.
